While my blog is dedicated towards traveling, and I swear I am not taking back my obsession for travel, I was reminded this past week that home really is where the heart is. Traveling open’s up the soul and invigorates and challenges the mind, but home is where you can rest your feet, relax and not feel pressured to do anything. I went home, to Indiana, this past week and I found that despite being away from my friends, I had a remarkably enjoyable time. And to be honest, I hardly did anything.
I strongly believe that I was on a travel high when I got back from my Semester Abroad. And I still believe that that high still exists in me, but I do think it has settled down. Now and then, I recall my travels and I feel like I am living a boring life here. But, I need to remember that home is good because it keeps your head on straight and it reminds you of where you come from. When traveling it is tough to remember your values and your heart, BUT home always brings you back.
I love traveling and I will never stop exploring the world. I just thought, after a family-hoosier filled week, that I would give my home a little credit. I love the midwest and all the comfort it has to offer. It is great to know that I can explore all facets of the world, but I will always have a place called home to return to.
